Vetel Diagnostics Introduces Flat Panel Digital Radiography System for Companion Animals
May 29th, 09
San Luis Obispo, CA, United States, 05/29/2009 - Vetel Diagnostics has developed a Canon ® flat panel digital radiography system for companion animal veterinarians at an affordable price. It offers exclusive 3-D models as well as motion-over-time composite images and photo overlays.
Vetel Diagnostics, a leading provider of digital
radiology to veterinarians announced the availability of its ExplorerCA
companion animal digital radiography (DR) system using proven Canon® 50 G
detector panels. Along with superior images, the new ExplorerCA is the
only system that supports both the Dicom medical file sharing standards
and the more common Windows™ based formats. Vetel systems are also
unique for their ability to create 3-D models, motion-over-time
composite images, and photo overlays from a single digital picture.
James K. Waldsmith, DVM, founded Vetel Diagnostics ten years ago,
developing the system based on the needs of his own patients and fellow
veterinarians. “This entry level system is perfect for smaller practices
because of its unsurpassed image quality, versatility and pricing” said
Dr. Waldsmith, adding: “We can tailor the system to fit each
veterinarian’s needs—we realize that one size does not fit all.” With
the ExplorerCA, veterinarians currently using film can make use of their
existing equipment to transition into digital imaging.
Veterinarians new to DR and those already working with DR can upgrade
economically, increasing not only diagnostic capabilities but also
profitability. In a small, three-veterinarian practice, the system can
pay for itself in as little as 18 months by increasing technician
productivity and the elimination of rising costs associated with film
based radiology.
The ExplorerCA’s panel is manufactured by Canon,® the most widely used
panel in veterinary medicine today. In addition to producing the highest
quality images in the industry and capturing images in less than 4
seconds, the images are also acquired at lower radiation exposures. This
results in safer working conditions for both veterinary staff and
patients.
The ExplorerCA system with the Canon® 50 G detector panel is the latest
addition to Vetel Diagnostics’ product line, which includes digital
radiography systems for equine and companion animals, as well as thermal
imaging products. All digital radiography systems from Vetel
Diagnostics combine the highest quality components with the industry's
most user-friendly and accurate software.
